BENCHMARK OF THE MONTH Local Line Charges Up Almost 9% in U.S.' 10 Largest Cities
Feb. 5, 2007 (Vol. 28, No. 3)
It’s not your imagination – your local line charges have gone up in the last three months or so. Local line charges jumped an average 8.81% across the country’s 10 largest cities since mid-October 2006, proves data compiled from the Telecom Expense Management Rate File. The database is maintained by Rockville, Md.-based Center for Com-munications Management Information (CCMI), Voice Report’s parent division, using line charges made public in tariffs the carriers file with public utility commissions in each state. For more information, or to purchase access to the entire database – which includes local line rates for every city in the country – contact Senior Account Manager Michael Yokay at (301) 287-2315. (
