New Siemens Enterprise Communications CEO Announced Posted on Dec. 14, 2009 Siemens Enterprise Communications Group finally has a permanent CEO after six months of interim leadership. Hamid Akhavan will take the helm as CEO of the communications systems manufacturer by late February, Siemens announced Dec. 8. Mark Stone, interim CEO since former CEO James O’Neill left in June [VR 7/2/09], will resume his duties as executive chairman and will remain on the executive board. A Siemens spokeswoman contacted at the time of O’Neill’s departure declined to comment on the reason for his exit. Akhavan held previous executive leadership positions at Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile International AG and Teligent Inc. “From a personal perspective, the opportunity to lead the ongoing success story of SEN Group, with its proud history of industry firsts, outstanding talent and leading market positions in many of its solutions and services, is very exciting,” Akhavan says in a press release. “We operate in a highly competitive market that is continually advancing and I am committed to building significant value for the customers, shareholders and employees of SEN Group."
