I worked at Washington State University for 38.5 years in administrative computing and telecom. WSU operates its own PBX serving seven different geographic locations.

Prediction on the Future of Telecom & Telecom Managers:

It will always be a need but in a changing world as more and more services become commercially available. Good telecom managers will need to be prepared to continuously evolve and may soon find themselves in world where many different services are outsourced.

The stupidest thing I've ever seen anyone do or say in relation to a phone:

There are so many but my favorite is those who ruin handsets by spraying them with Lysol. We also had a telephone set returned as broken that came in with grass stains. Later we found out that it had been thrown out a window when a student was told by his girlfriend that she was dropping him.
