John T. Ambrosi's Rap Sheet

Title:  VP, Carrier and Government Relations
Employer:  PAETEC
Nickname/Alias:  J.T.

What I'm Best Known For (in the Telecom World):

Protecting PAETEC's interests on the national regulatory stage.

Other Primary Areas of Expertise:

Carrier Access Billing and Collections
Interconnection negotiations and dispute resolution

Summary of Professional Background:

I have enjoyed 9+ years at PAETEC after I cut my teeth in telecom regulatory/carrier relations at ACC/TCG/ATT.  After a 10 year stint in the Marines, I decided to pursue a career in Public Policy and graduate school got me hooked on telecom and the just released Telecom Act of 1996.

Prediction on the Future of Telecom & Telecom Managers:

Telecom, in the guise of many new technologies, will continue to be a key to the continued health of the American economy.  People can only co-exist and commerce can only occur with the benefit of reliable communications.  The smart, hard working employees and managers in our industry will work to make communications cheaper and better for all of us.

Weirdest Thing People Usually Don't Know about Me:

I'm a history nut and, invariably, run across situations in daily life that I can tie back to the experience of those who have gone before us.  Nuttin' new under the sun, folks.

When I'm not talking or doing something in relation to telecom, I'm usually...

Spending time with my wife and son and enjoying our life in beautiful Rocheser, NY.

Book and author I'm currently reading:

A bio of Ben Franklin by Isaacson; a bio of Horatio Nelson by Knight and some esoteric book about Colorado's geology the author's name I cannot recall.

CD currently or most recently in my car stereo:

The Band's Greatest Hits

The stupidest thing I've ever seen anyone do or say in relation to a phone:

With deference to the brilliance and mass consumption of the technology, the collective countless, mindless private conversations we all now have the privilege of publicly hearing in airports, train stations, malls and restaurants courtesy of the wireless boom.
