- You can get 75-135kbps download speeds with Cingular’s EDGE, but EVDO can hit 2.2mbps – if the area isn’t swamped with users
- Watch for UMTS from Cingular as it looks to improve on EDGE
- Alltel has EVDO too, but T-Mobile’s Wi-Fi/UMTS strategy shows the carrier’s still figuring out what it wants to be when it grows up
