Title:  Partner
Employer:  LB3 - Levine, Blaszak, Block & Boothby, LLP
Featured In:
E911 Redux: 4 Steps to Getting Started, 4/22/09
Nickname/Alias:  Better that it be left buried in the dustbin of history.

What I'm Best Known For (in the Telecom World):

Like all of my colleagues at LB3, providing strategic counsel to and negotiating agreements on behalf of corporate enterprise customers for network services, hosting, managed equipment and other cool stuff that big companies buy to help their employees communicate.

Other Primary Areas of Expertise:

E911, public safety communications, managed services, outsourcing.

Summary of Professional Background:

Lots of school, a brief stint as a young (read: clueless) management consultant, law school, a brief stint as a litigator, then 10 action-packed years of negotiating telecom agreements for and advocating on behalf of enterprise users.

Prediction on the Future of Telecom & Telecom Managers:

There will continue to be remarkable innovation in telecom: amazing new apps, cool new infrastructure, new ways to communicate. And there will be incredible frustration on the part of end users in procuring those services from the global network service providers quickly, under reasonable terms and conditions, and in the way the consumer actually wants to purchase them. "Those who do not know history are condemned to repeat it."

Weirdest Thing People Usually Don't Know about Me:

I can name any episode of the Brady Bunch within 30 seconds after the opening credits appear. And, clearly, I'm not proud.

When I'm not talking or doing something in relation to telecom, I'm usually...

chasing after and laughing with my kids, both under 5.

Book and author I'm currently reading:

Make Way for Ducklings by Robert McClosky.  See above.

CD currently or most recently in my car stereo:

You'll have to confirm with the guy who stole my car stereo a few weeks ago, but I think it was Lyle Lovett's Step Inside This House.

Blogs I follow regularly:

www.nojitter.com and www.techcaliber.com/blog for technology
www.gigaom.com for humor
My hometown paper’s Washington Sketch at www.washingtonpost.com

The stupidest thing I've ever seen anyone do or say in relation to a phone:

"The Internet is not something that you just dump something on. It's not a big truck. It's a series of tubes."
