Title: Executive Vice President & COO Employer: New Paradigm Resources Group, Inc. (NPRG) What I'm Best Known For (in the Telecom World): NPRG is best known for its on-going coverage and analysis of the increasing competitive communications industry and helping our clients decipher the implications of these trends for their business. Other Primary Areas of Expertise: Through our “Continuous Information and Advisory Services” we’re also heavily involved in strategy development, competitive analysis, forecasting and trend identification. Summary of Professional Background: Started on this path at the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) where I was fortunate enough to begin working with Terry Barnich, who was Chairman of the ICC at a time when the telecom markets where not yet open to competitive entry. Terry signed the first orders permitting competitive providers- the likes of MFS and Teleport - to get into the market. My work extended into client-specific work and industry analysis writing at NPRG for the past 14 years. Prediction on the Future of Telecom & Telecom Managers: Very bright (but challenging) for both service providers and end-users…and fascinating for those of us who are involved. Weirdest Thing People Usually Don't Know about Me: I actually enjoy reading “how-to” tech books – like those on database development, network administration, and web portals. When I'm not talking or doing something in relation to telecom, I'm usually... Either outside working on our landscaping or with my kids…but right now there doesn’t seem to be much time outside the office… Book and author I'm currently reading: The Design of Everyday Things by Donald A. Norman CD currently or most recently in my car stereo: All The Roadrunning – Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris. The stupidest thing I've ever seen anyone do or say in relation to a phone: I’m sure others have seen this…people forgetting to plug phones in and wondering why it didn’t work. |
