John Estes' Rap Sheet

John Estes

Title:  Vice President - Robert Half Technology
Employer:  Robert Half International, Inc.

What I'm Best Known For (in the Telecom World):

Placing telecom techs and network managers in positions.

Other Primary Areas of Expertise:

Sales, Recruiting, Training

Summary of Professional Background:

Seven years of sales with IBM (new accounts, mid-range systems, services), 14 years experience in staffing overall, 2 years experience with Robert Half (sales, recruiting, sales management, training), five years experience U.S. Air Force (signals intellience analyst).

Prediction on the Future of Telecom & Telecom Managers:

I'm very optimistic about telecom careers and the future of telecom as a career.   It's a challenge for professionals to stay current on technology, but if they do they'll have tremendous opportunities.

Weirdest Thing People Usually Don't Know about Me:

I like country music, but I don't seem like the country music type (so I'm told).

When I'm not talking or doing something in relation to telecom, I'm usually...

Training our salespeople and recruiters in information technology placements.

Book and author I'm currently reading:

Just finished "Playing for Pizza", John Grisham's latest.

CD currently or most recently in my car stereo:

Hank Williams Jr. Greatest Hits

The stupidest thing I've ever seen anyone do or say in relation to a phone:

When people discuss talking on the phone and they use the thumb and pinkie to show they are on the phone.  I think I get it without the hand gesture.  :)
