Expertise is across a number of telecom services (MPLS, Ethernet, broadband, VOIP, 3G…).  Known as a straight shooter who tells it like it is.

Other Primary Areas of Expertise:

Act as counselor to enterprises on network architecture, service migration and provider selection.  Advise providers on how to align their services, features and customer support with enterprise expectations.
Outside of current position - marketing research, business modeling,  and demand forecasting.  Developed a number of business services/features for ATT when I worked there.  Have also performed due diligence work for VCs.

Summary of Professional Background:

Joined AT&T in 1985.  Did training and consulting in new communications protocols between 1993 and 1998.  Have been an analyst since 1998 (at Giga, which was acquired by Forrester in 2003).

Prediction on the Future of Telecom & Telecom Managers:

Since the large mega mergers, we’ve seen innovation from major providers slow down.  It’s not by any means be dead in the water, but won’t be as rapid has it has been, or could be.  Providers are focusing their efforts on IP TV (AT&T, Vz), expect this slower pace from incumbents to continue indefinitely—innovation will.
